Triple Crown Champions Book Launch

[The Archives April 29, 2012]
Captain Jenkins & MVP Adrian Graham with their copies. [Never mind Jenkins holding his book upside down!!]

The book launch of the Triple Crown Champion went quite well. The mood was very lighted hearted and relaxed inside the Center and was in contrast with the frantic activity of the Liguanea Art Festival on the outside.

Present for the signing were Board Chairman, Fr. Peter McIssac(For those who don’t know, a man with a great sense of humour), Principal, Mrs. Margaret Campbell and Coach Neville Bell. Also present were Oshane Jenkins, Manning Cup team captain and Adrian ‘Crusha’ Graham, the MVP of the 2011 team.

Fr. McIssac started the launch with a prayer of thanksgiving for the blessings the school has experienced this year. He prayed for continued success. Minister of Sate in the Ministry of Tourism and Entertainment, Hon. Damian Crawford grudgingly congratulated St. George’s College on our achievements in 2011. He was presented with a copy of the book. As the only K.C. graduate in the group, it made the Honourable Minister an obvious target for much jiving and humour.

For the next hour or so, books were signed and sold to those who came to the launch. Some of those present were Fred (President, STGC Old Boys Association of Ontario) and his wife, Georgianne Kennedy, Wayne Wray (President, STGC Old Boys Association of Jamaica) and family, Mrs. Paula Chang, widower of our beloved Carl Chang, Councillor Ian Telfer, Winston Atkinson, Boys ), Basil Lue ( Latter two, Past Presidents, STGC Old Boys Association), Michael Chuck and Marlon Chuck, Lyndon Latore and Past Headboy Jezel Martin and others.

The book is being sold for J $2000/ US$ 25 and all proceeds will go the St. George’s College Sports Councillor to finance sports at St. George’s College. We are anticipating strong support for the purchasing of this commemorative book from the STGC family.
