STGC’s Footballers Off to Stoke City

St. George’s College Manning Cup footballers Chantamoi Taylor and Emilio Rousseau were part of the Digicel High School Football group that went to Stoke City for a ten-day training camp. They will be hosted by Stoke City Academy. They are expected to return this weekend.

Chantamoi was the second highest scorer in the 2018-19 Manning Cup season while Emilio was our outstanding attacking left wing back. In recent memory, the only other STGC left wing back that could come close to Emilio is Kareem ‘Keke’ Manning. Kareem was part of the 2009,2011 and 2012 Championship Manning Cup teams.

The full group consists of; Geovanni Laing (Camperdown), Lamar Walker (Clarendon College), Norman Campbell (JC), Travonne Reid (KC), Shevan McDonald (Cornwall College), Chantamoi Taylor (STGC) and Emilio Rousseau (STGC).

Digicel CEO Justin Morin was delighted with the opportunity of arranging the trip with the help of Ricardo Fuller, former player for Stoke City and now a Digicel Football Ambassador. Justin, himself a former STGC footballer who was a member of the 1992 Champion Manning Cup team encouraged the footballers to make full use of the opportunity. He also stressed the importance of working on the academics. Digicel Jamaica will spend J$75 million over three years as sponsors of the ISSA Manning Cup.

Congrats to Chantamoi and Emilio.
