In Fond Memory of Laddie Kong [STGC Class of 1957]

Our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Laddie Kong, age 83, who passed on June 21, 2024. He was a beloved, dedicated founding-member of STGC OBA Florida
His Florida fellow Georgians remember him fondly, “Whether he was enjoying spirited alumni meetings, sharing breakfast with longtime friends, or partaking in jovial tennis matches that echoed with laughter, Laddie’s presence illuminated every occasion. His deep affection for his family, particularly his cherished wife Marie, and his joyous moments on the tennis court with his companions resonated deeply with all who knew him.”
His daughter JoAnne posted to his friends on Facebook, “As most of you know, he truly cherished each of you deeply. His connections were everything to him so thank you for all your love and support…There is now a void in our hearts that can’t be replaced, but he would want us to remember him with a smile, to carry forward
his love for life…”
He is survived by his wife Marie, children Mark and JoAnne, daughters-in-law Marie and Susan, son-in-law Shaun and six grandchildren, Jada, Marek, Ethan, Mason, Maddy and Marissa.
In accordance with his wishes, no formal ceremony will be held in memoriam.
“Rest in peace, Laddie, from your fellow Georgians of the Ontario Chapter.“
Marie is my father’s cousin. “His presence illuminated every occasion” captures him so well. It’s hard to believe that ebullience is gone forever. He was that rare extrovert who connected deeply person to person and made each one feel important. I thank you, my father’s alma mater for this beautiful tribute.
Walk good Laddie. A Georgian extraordinaire. Condolences to your family, from my family.
