MASS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT- Celebrating 175 Years St. George’s College Class 2029 1 September, 2024.

On September 1, 2024, the St. George’s College community in Kingston, Jamaica, came together in joyful celebration for the traditional Mass of the Holy Spirit. This cherished ritual marks the start of the new academic year with prayer, reflection, and gratitude.

The occasion was made even more special as the school honored its remarkable 175th anniversary. Founded in 1850 by Jesuit priests, St. George’s College stands as Jamaica’s first secondary school dedicated to classical and scientific education, a legacy of excellence that continues to inspire generations.

In this memorable photograph, the bright-eyed members of the Class of 2029, resplendent in their light blue shirts and ties, stand proudly with faculty, alumni, and distinguished guests in front of the historic chapel doors—living proof of the enduring Jesuit mission to form young men and women of competence, conscience, and compassion for the greater glory of God.
