Celebrating 175 years- St. George’s College
THE O’HARE BUILDING
Dedicated in 1913, the O’Hare Building represents the core of the institution. It housed all the class rooms for the some 150 students attending at the time.
Today, the legacy of the school in the generations of students is symbolized by many graduating classes taking their group photos in front of this building.
In 2004, the building suffered significant damage from Hurricane Ivan. It underwent frantic restoration over a three month period under the supervision of the late Carl Chang.
Today, it houses the offices of Upper School Vice -Principal, the Dean of Sixth Form and the Fifth Form Supervisor together will all the fifth form and sixth form classrooms.
In 2023, a drive to continue the restoration of the O’Hare Building was initiated. STGC Class1973, donated J$1.33 million to this cause.
