St. George’s College Class of ’24’, 5th Form Graduation Ceremony.

Kingston Jamaica July 7, 2024

The Graduating Class of 2024 celebrated the end of an important chapter in their life’s journey in front of large number of family members and friends.

The organization and quality of the function was top class. Apart from a few brief microphone hitches, the items flowed. The program was sprinkled with quality musical items from the STGC choir as well and from the Graduating Class.

Fr. Rohan Tulloch, S.J. opened with a prayer of thanksgiving and gratitude especially in light of the island being spared the full blunt of Hurricane Beryl’s fury.

Principal, Mrs. Margaret Campbell acknowledged the many challenges including a bomb scare and more recently, Hurricane Beryl. Despite these, we continue to rebound from the COVID 19 syndrome. Our academic performance has improved significantly. The number of Honor Roll recipients this year, eighteen, was double the average over the past few years. We continue to do well in sports reaching far in many of the high school sporting competitions.

Guest speaker, Mr. Stefan Marston, the young enterprising banker with the Bank of America congratulated the young Knights on the occasion. At STGC he excelled both in sports and class work. He migrated to the USA after leaving St. George’s College to go to college and then banking as a career. He pointed out, that research has shown that for you to truly master a craft, you need to spend some 10,000 hours on the activity. There is no shortcut to success. When it comes to networking, many of your present classmates will become your network partners later on down the road.

The main items on the program were, of course, the presentation of the diplomas, special awards and acknowledgement of the students who made the Honor Roll.

The function ended on a high note with the graduates marching out in style.

Congratulations to the Graduating Class of 2024.
